Personalized, research-based literacy instruction grounded in the Orton-Gillingham approach to build confident, capable readers.

Research Meets Practice

Research-Based Methods

Instruction is grounded in the Science of Reading, an evidence-based approach that is explicit, systematic, and aligned with how the brain learns language.

Individualized Approach

Instruction follows a prescriptive and diagnostic model, using continuous assessment to inform individualized lesson planning and targeted intervention.

Measurable Growth

Ongoing assessment tracks progress and guides instruction to ensure meaningful results.

Signs of Reading Difficulties

Every child develops at their own pace, but persistent struggles with reading may signal a deeper issue such as dyslexia or another language-based reading disorder.

Some signs may include:

  • Avoids reading or becomes frustrated during homework

  • Has trouble learning letter names and sounds

  • Struggles to sound out (decode) unfamiliar words

  • Guesses at words instead of reading them accurately

  • Reads slowly and with great effort

  • Skips small words or loses their place while reading

  • Has difficulty remembering sight words

  • Struggles with spelling, even simple words

  • Reverses letters beyond early elementary years

  • Has stronger verbal skills than reading or writing skills

  • Says “I’m bad at reading” or shows low confidence

Dyslexia and language-based learning disabilities are neurological differences that affect how a child processes and uses language, impacting reading, writing, spelling, and comprehension. They are not related to intelligence and respond best to explicit, systematic, evidence-based instruction. With the right approach, children can build the skills, confidence, and independence they need to thrive academically.

Testimonials

“Bottom line…Gabrielle changed our daughter's life for the better.

We feel incredibly lucky to have found Gabrielle Yablonovich as our daughter Gala’s tutor. From the very beginning, Gabrielle brought not only deep knowledge and skill, but also warmth, patience, and genuine care.Gabrielle has a wonderful way of meeting Gala exactly where she is—building confidence while also steadily strengthening the skills that make reading and writing feel less overwhelming. She explains things clearly, breaks learning into manageable steps, and always keeps sessions encouraging and positive. Over time, we’ve seen real progress not only in Gala’s reading ability, but also in her self-esteem and willingness to take on challenges.

What truly sets Gabrielle apart is how thoughtful and attentive she is. She comes prepared, tracks progress carefully, and adapts her approach based on what Gala needs. Gala genuinely enjoys working with her, which speaks volumes—especially for a child who has struggled in the past.We can’t recommend Gabrielle highly enough. She is an exceptional tutor and a rare kind of educator: highly skilled, deeply compassionate, and truly invested in her students’ success.”

“Gabrielle Yablanovich has been nothing short of transformative for our eight year old son with dyslexia. In just over a year, using a deeply structured Orton Gilligham approach, she has taken him from frustration and avoidance to genuine confidence and measurable progress. Her sessions are precise, methodical, and purposeful. The daily binder system, clear expectations, and parent partnership create accountability while giving the child a sense of mastery and momentum. What once felt overwhelming to him is now something he approaches with pride. The change in his reading and writing (and, importantly, his self belief) has been extraordinary.

Gabrielle brings a rare combination of elite training and real classroom experience from Windward and the Pine Crest Learning Center, but what truly sets her apart is her insight into how dyslexic children think and feel. She meets the child exactly where they are while never lowering the bar. She is calm, systematic, and deeply encouraging, and she knows how to build skills in a way that actually sticks. For our family, the results have been nothing short of life changing. Any child working with her is in the hands of a true expert and a gifted teacher.”
